Don’t Leave It to Chance: Winter Storage for Remote Job Sites
ISS provides on-site winter storage structures for remote construction, oil and gas, mining, and municipal job sites. Tension fabric structures and clear-span buildings deploy directly to the site — no permanent foundation, no off-site logistics — so equipment and materials stay protected where the work is.
Fabric Structures Built for Remote Conditions
ISS tension fabric structures and clear-span buildings are engineered for sites with no permanent infrastructure. They anchor or ballast to virtually any prepared surface and span wide enough to cover everything from a tool yard to a full equipment bay — excavators, boom lifts, and stockpiled materials included.
Optional HVAC and climate control keeps interior temperatures above the thresholds that cause hydraulic failure, fluid gelling, and condensation damage — critical for electronics, instrumentation, and control systems that can’t tolerate a season of freeze-thaw exposure.
What Gets Protected
Any asset that loses value, reliability, or security when left exposed through winter is a candidate for on-site storage. Common applications:
- Heavy equipment: Excavators, skid steers, telehandlers, cranes, compactors
- Fleet vehicles: Service trucks, fuel tankers, support vehicles
- Power generation: Generators, lighting towers, compressors
- Materials: Lumber, steel, pipe, conduit, roofing, masonry
- Sensitive cargo: Electronics, instrumentation, control panels, hydraulics
Secure Through Winter, Ready in Spring
ISS structures are fully enclosed and lockable. Roll-up doors, personnel doors, and security lighting are all available — giving unmanned remote sites a physical layer of protection that open staging areas and equipment covers can’t provide.
When the season resumes, the structure converts directly into a staging area. Materials are already on-site. Equipment is ready. The crew isn’t re-mobilizing — they’re working. For multi-year projects, the same structure serves storage, staging, and operational support across the full project lifecycle.
